Alp Electric Co Ltd has demonstrated their new technology called the “minute capacitance sensing technology”, which enables a sensor to sense the electric capacity of a hand or fingers moving about 3cm away. The technology has been applied to the laptop’s touchpad, making it possible for us to control our laptop cursor without having to put your fingers on the touchpad.
The technology is however still under development and the schedule for commercialization has yet to be decided.

Lenovo IdeaPad S10 Get Reviewed

The IdeaPad S10 has been reviewed by Laptop Magazine recently. They have given the netbook a rating of 3.5 out of 5 stars.
Overall, they find the S10 netbook to be stylish, having a good viewing angles display, and fast hard drive. But on the other hand, they also find a few drawbacks for the machine, which includes small keyboard, warm temperature, and short battery life.

Acer Aspire One Pink Model Available For Pre-order

Acer Aspire One released in July was available in only 2 colors: Seashell White and Sapphire Blue. However Pink Laptop Computer has recently discovered that the pink version of Acer Aspire One (model AOA150-1178 and AOA150-1672 ) is now available for pre-oders on J&R for $379.99 and $399.99 respectively. They have also discovered that the pink model to be available on eBay , but at a much higher price of $519.00.

Dell Rename Inspiron 1525 and 1420

To standardize every laptop model’s name, Dell has now renamed the Inspiron 1525 and 1420 to Inspiron 14 and Inspiron 15 respectively. Apparently, the number represent the laptop screen size. The specs remain the same for the 2 renamed models.

Asus N10 – First Netbook(or not?) Suitable For Gaming

Mobile Computer has written a great review about Asus N10, and calling it a “gaming netbook”. While Asus says that the N10 does not belong to the netbook category, we can actually see quite a bit of netbook characteristics on Asus N10, such as using Intel Atom N270 processor, 10-inch screen size, and its price which falls into the netbook price range. Anyway, regardless of whether the N10 is a netbook or not, this machine is getting positive feedback from the review. Be sure to check out the full review post here.

Fujitsu LifeBook U820 Will Be Available In The US Soon?

Fujitsu LifeBook U820, the US version of LifeBook U2010, is likely to be released soon.
While LifeBook U2010 has already been released for a while in a few countries out of US, Fujitsu has not make any announcement on the US release date untill today. But according to Pocketables, the LifeBook U820 has been spotted in a drop-down menu on Fujitsu’s US support site, and also a BIOS update for the U820.
The specs are not available yet as the support site is showing the U810 model specs instead of U820. However the fact that U820 is listed on the site shows a good sign for its availability.
New MacBook Pro Design Rumor

The latest rumor about the new Apple Macbook Pro design (from Apple Insider):
- FireWire 400 port to be removed from the new MacBook Pro
- The backwards compatible FireWire 800 port remains
- 28-pin DVI-I (Dual Link) port to be replaced with a mini-DVI port like the one found on the existing 13-inch MacBook line and iMac line
Dell Precision M6400 Running Quad-Core Processor With Up to 16GB RAM!

Dell has released the powerful M6400 Precision laptop which was advertised earlier on its website.
The 17-inch laptop from Dell is the company’s fastest ever laptop which is equipped with Intel’s quad-core 2.53GHz Core 2 Extreme processor, and carries four DDR3 memory slots that can each support 4GB of memory, pushing the system up to a desktop-like 16GB in the most extreme configurations. The detail technical spec can be found on Dell’s website.
The Precision M6400 laptop is now available for order is expected to be delivered by late October.
HP Released 15.6-inch Laptop G60

HP has recently released G60, the first 15.6-inch laptop from the company.
The specs for the G60 laptop is as follow:
